Lori Brocesky
President
"O.K. This isn't
a real photo."
|
Lori Brocesky is the president of the Denver area's newest
and largest Bernina sewing machine store, "Thread Play with Bernina".
She and her staff are dedicated to bringing fun, knowledge
and creativity to their customers.
Lori's love affair with sewing began at the age of four while stitching buttons on to scrap fabric. A few self-inflicted needle pricks did nothing to discourage Lori from her new found fascination.
The love of sewing has influenced most of her career decisions, eventually leading her to become a National Sewing Educator for Bernina. Her years of experience supporting Bernina dealers and their customers around the country created in Lori a desire to open a very special sewing store for customers in her own area: "Sew Inspirational by Bernina" in Colorado Springs.
Sew Inspirational attracted a devoted customer following, earning Lori the prestigious New Dealer of the Year award as well as induction into the esteemed Bernina Century Club which boasts membership of the country's largest and most respected dealers. She has had work published in Through the Needle and Artista Sampler, has been invited to speak at Bernina's annual convention, and serves as mentor to new sewing machine dealers.
The love of sewing and the desire to share it continues to influence Lori. After building the Bernina brand in Colorado Springs, she is thrilled to return to her native Denver to open her new store "Thread Play with Bernina". |

Joanne Sexson
Inventory Control Manager
"O.K. This isn't
a real photo."
|
Joanne
Sexson is enjoying to her duties as Inventory Control Manager
for "Thread
Play with Bernina". She has over six years of Bernina experience
in the Colorado Springs store, "Sew Inspirational by Bernina" owned
by her daughter.
Joanne has many years of sewing experience in clothing, home décor, and art quilting to her credit. She draws on her artistic experience from a 20 year career in floral design to enhance her current fiber art.
Joanne has shared her own love of sewing for many years. She gave her then four year old daughter Lori, buttons to sew onto scraps of fabric, beginning a chain of events that resulted in the creation of "Thread Play with Bernina". |

I.V. Anderson
Eclectic Activities Head
"O.K. This isn't
a real photo."
|
As head of Eclectic Activities I.V. will wear many hats at "Thread
Play with Bernina" including teaching, developing new classes, creating
displays, and working the sales floor. As a factory trained Bernina
"mechanic", I.V. is Thread Play's in house technician.
I.V.'s sewing began at an early age, she remembers waking
her mother to thread her needle in the wee hours of the
morning. She has sewn steadily since middle school, creating
everything from clothing to funky wall hangings, Idaho
Potato costumes to rocket parachutes. When not sewing
I.V. paints, creates collage and assemblages, and daydreams.
Retiring from Denver Fabrics after 21 years, she is dedicated
to bringing the eclectic and unusual to "Thread Play with Bernina".

Barbara Lyons
Vanquisher of Chaos
"O.K. This isn't
a real photo."
|
Barbara Lyons has joined the Thread Play staff as our
defender against confusion and disorder. As "Vanquisher
of Chaos" she will manage not only merchandise,
classes, special services, and promotions, she will attempt
to manage the staff. Look for Barbara's serene
professional touch on all aspects of our shop.
Barbara combines a corporate America background (where
she created and managed departments with 100's of employees
and million dollar budgets), with her natural serinety,
to bravely go where the disorganized dare not go.
In her personal time Barbara uses her Bernina to create
beautiful quilts in her favorite ocean colors of aqua,
blue, green with touches of purple.

Todd Brocesky
Support Engineer
"Todd really looks
like this, only without the smoke ." |
Todd Brocesky will be continuing his relationship with the firm in the position of Support Engineer for "Thread Play with Bernina". His duties include the shoring up of morale, accepting late suppers (several times a week) and providing emergency Starbucks as needed.
Todd and Lori have been married for 22 years. His support
and encouragement have played an invaluable role in the
development of both "Sew Inspirational" and "Thread Play
with Bernina".
Besides being an avid fisherman, Todd is a drummer in a band and occasionally still plays a mean game of hockey. And yes, he has been known to show up with Starbucks! |
